Email Marketing Manager

Reports to:   VP, Account Director

About the Job 

Quigley-Simpson is on the hunt for an Email Marketing Manager to work within our Digital Strategy and Account Service teams. We need someone who can think holistically across email touch points and develop, manage and execute brand and messaging reinforcement across multiple touches within an annual marketing calendar. Essential Functions:

  • Client strategic lead that will be authoring slide-based presentations to communicate content strategy, messaging consistency and testing frameworks
  • Drive email messaging strategic presentations across new customer onboarding, transactional emails, monthly email to marketing calendar across point accumulation & redemption and product benefits
  • Report regularly on email performance and initiatives
  • Collaborate with client to develop/update email and promotional reporting that tracks KPIs and business metrics on a regular basis to uncover actionable trends, insights and forecasts
  • Partner with creative, editorial and brand team to develop compelling and consistent messaging
  • Develop and provide segmentation insights to further refine and improve communication to customers
  • Participate in QA of emails to ensure accurate and error-free execution of links, segmentation and content
  • Partner with analytics to improve reporting capabilities and marketing dashboards; increase visibility and understanding of email channel and customer metrics (from CTR to LTV)
  • Support SVP & Director for existing customer Marketing in ad hoc and strategic projects Candidate Requirements

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ email marketing experience
  • Prior experience managing people including training, development, goal and performance management
  • Demonstrated understanding of contact strategies journey and lifecycles
  • Should have experience in highly analytical functions and reporting out/implementing recommendations based on analyses
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement around customer nurturing and retention
  • Expertise in managing multiple and competing demands/projects and delivering against aggressive goals


  • Highly proficient in Excel (pivot tables, graphs, formulas, etc.), SQL and HTML
  • Strong understanding of email strategies and lifecycle stages
  • Understanding of variations in email clients
  • Strong knowledge of best practices, for example, optimal send times
  • Strong knowledge of best practices to avoid blacklisting
  • Highly analytical and a self-starter; must be able to take initiative to identify opportunities, report out findings and implement improvements
  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills, with ability to take initiative in a challenging, fast-paced environment of multiple priorities
  • Strong critical-thinking and analytical capabilities, particularly in customer segmentation
  • Excellent analytical abilities, rigorous attention to detail and bias for customer-centric planning
  • Strong collaborator and relationship builder, both internally and externally, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics
  • Strong understanding and experience with testing for email
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a high regard for attention to detail
  • Ability to zoom out to high-level strategic work and zoom in to detailed operational work
  • Strong cross functional skills with ability to partner and collaborate across all areas of organization including finance, customer service, development and marketing partners
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
