Senior Planner, Integrated Media

The Senior Planner, Integrated Media is responsible for the management of key day-to-day client relationships and the supervision and functioning of the media team to ensure all initiatives are strategically and creatively on target and delivered on time and on budget. Primary responsibilities include managing comprehensive campaigns, with responsibility for day-to-day client and account/creative/production management, strategic planning, recommendations and overall problem solving associated with management, development and implementation of successful ad campaigns, including TV, OOH, digital, social, print and audio.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as client relationship manager, understand clients’ marketing objectives and works with Creative and Account Management teams to develop strategies that meet those objectives on a daily basis
  • Act as a primary advocate for clients’ brands on accounts, ensuring brand consistency across all projects and actively acquire thorough knowledge of clients’ businesses to meet objectives
  • Assist Group Account Director and Integrated Media Director, as needed
  • Supervise Assistant Media Planner in their direct responsibilities; enable and encourage exceptional performance from team
  • Maintain a current and broad knowledge of clients’ businesses and competition in order to direct and contribute to marketing and advertising plans, strategic planning and implementation
  • Initiate and review reports, trends and results, and interpret data to make proactive strategic recommendations to advance the business initiatives
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional agency teams to ensure flawless execution of plans, including account, creative, traffic and finance
  • Maintain good rapport with sales representatives and vendors to negotiate the most efficient rates and secure added value whenever possible
  • Manage the flow of client media-related issues based on changes in direction, goals and budgets; must be capable of creating solutions and pro-actively resolving issues
  • Deliver POVs/position papers on key client issues and/or client opportunities
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Serve as a role model and facilitate a team environment

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or related field
  • 4+ years’ agency experience
  • Expertise in planning, buying and stewarding holistic integrated media campaigns
  • Integrated media strategy experience in OOH, print and digital a must; radio/TV experience a plus
  • Detailed-oriented, organized and excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications
  • Experience with Mediaocean OX a plus
  • Proficiency in media-related and other basic software packages (e.g., MRI, Scarborough, Kantar, comScore, Sizmek, Telmar, IMS)
  • Enthusiastic team player with an “anything is possible” attitude
