Art Director

Reports to: ACD + ECD


A hands-on, detail-oriented art director responsible for the creation and execution of primarily tactical, response-driven communications—but who can also deliver the occasional big idea. The art director collaborates with a copywriter to create strategic communications for prestigious financial and hospitality brands across a variety of media, including but not limited to email, landing pages, web modules, in-app messaging and paid media such as web banners, social media and online video.

Core Accountabilities

• Possesses strong digital design skills
• Knowledge of best practices across digital and social channels
• Experience designing email, web pages, social media and web banners
• Skilled in interface design across multiple digital platforms including desktop, touchscreen and mobile
• Ability to design to established specs and templates
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop
• Highly detail-oriented and organized
• Comfortable managing heavy volume of deliverables
• Delivers high-quality work with emphasis on quality control
• Able to digest client feedback and effectively revise work
• Can multitask and manage changing priorities
• Able to respect and follow complex processes
• Team player


• Able to communicate and present work with confidence and clarity
• Able to present work and effectively field comments/questions
• Develops design solutions for media including television, print and out-of-home
• Good working knowledge of and experience with Illustrator and/or AfterEffects

Academic/Educational Requirements

Bachelor level or higher in relevant area, plus additional design/digital certificates

Required Skills/Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a design or art direction role
• Knowledge of digital standards/best practices, including UX/UI/IA
• Art and design skills: typography, layout, animation, style guide creation, production
• Technical skills: working knowledge of HTML, HTML5, CSS and Flash
• Software skills: expert level with InDesign and Photoshop
• Knowledge of innovations and trends in graphic design, e-commerce and the digital space
