Assistant Media Planner

This position assists our integrated media strategy team in managing our client’s needs. Responsibilities include assisting in the management of the overall research, planning, reporting, preparation and interpretation of data, next steps and recommendations, with supervision from senior team members.


•Assist with daily operations of assigned accounts
• Help manage ongoing campaign reporting, creation of presentations for media recommendations and campaign wrap-ups/results
• Arrange and attend client/agency or internal agency meetings and prepare conference notes
• Assist with POVs, competitive reporting, and applicable research
• Maintain and organize all related records and files as needed by Client Services Department
• Provide assistance on special projects when necessary (e.g., research projects, new business, client meetings, etc.)
• Maintain a cordial and business-like relationship with client personnel and vendors and handle information requests and coordination as needed
• Function as liaison between partner agencies and internal buying and creative departments to coordinate media activations and ensure that all deadlines are met
• Respond to internal and external requests, and ensure that all assets and reports are delivered accurately and on time
• Assist with budget maintenance and maintain flowcharts
• Work with media and billing teams to insure internal paperwork is executed correctly
• Support other department members during peak workload periods

• Troubleshoot and proactively problem solve when appropriate
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and ability to see a project through to completion
• Exhibit strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience

• Bachelors’ degree required; master’s degree a plus
• 1 year of experience working in media planning
• Proficiency in MS Office software required
• Prior media planning experience and digital savviness preferred
• Attention to detail essential and media-math knowledge preferred
• Any knowledge of media-related and other basic software packages (e.g., MRI, Scarborough, AdViews, Stradegy, IMS, Telmar) a plus
• Experience with Mediaocean OX a plus
• Proficiency in MS Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
