The 4A’s recently wrapped the latest Los Angeles edition of its storied Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies (IAAS), and Quigley is thrilled to bring home the coveted Monty McKinney trophy for a second straight year. Paid social supervisor Christian Ward joined rising associates from agencies throughout the region to undergo the program’s intensive course and illustrious pitch competition, and ultimately delivered the winning pitch.

Each year, IAAS brings in a marquee brand to present teams of five to six participants with a real-world marketing challenge. Drawing on their classwork and experience, teams bring together strategy, audience insights, creative development, and media planning to develop a compelling solution. This year, Kia asked teams to create an integrated campaign that would position its latest evolution in electric vehicles, the EV6, as the sustainable car of choice for younger audiences. Los Seis positioned the EV6 as the entry point for new EV buyers with a campaign inviting affluent, tech-savvy audiences to “Level Up.”

“I was initially hesitant about a program that required such a significant amount of time after work, but after completing the program I would recommend it to anyone looking to advance their careers,” said Christian. “Working with creative individuals from all different areas of advertising, I was able to get a completely new perspective on approaching a business problem that I will take into every new project. We put together a pitch that we all felt very proud about, and it’s an experience that I’ll never forget.”

Christian’s Los Seis teammates included Robby Dockery (Deutsch), Cheldy Moran (Baru), Laura Claypool (Rufus Media), Amanda Torino (Davis Elen), and Luis Cabrera (Orci).

Quigley congratulates Los Seis on their win as well as all of this year’s program participants for taking on one of the industry’s most rewarding challenges.
